All of the pictures taken this year are posted on our photo website http://lightsphotos.ifp3.com.
The 12-1's played in the morning at the Convention Center. They started out with a tough match against a team from Puerto Rico. They won the first, lost the 2nd and then lost the 3rd set. Their next match against Skyline they lost in two sets. They have now finished their six team pool and placed 5th in it. They will play on Friday morning at 8am in the Convention Center. They are no longer in contention for the Gold Bracket in the 12 Open Division. After they were done playing they went to Coco Beach for the afternoon. They went swimming in the ocean, walked on the beach, went shopping at Ron Jons and then came back home. Once they got home they had a baked potato bar for dinner.
The 13-1's played in the afternoon at the Milk House. They are the only team playing over there today, everyone else is at the Convention Center. As a result I do not have any pictures from them today. They did however have a outstanding day of play. They won their two matches in pool play and then had another crossover match against Rockword Thunder which they also won in 2 straight games.
The 14-1's had a very good day. They started off by beating Norco in 2 sets. They then played Lions 141 and beat them in 3. This left them 2-0 in pool along with Kiva who was 2-0. The big was a big one. NL won game one. We almost won game two, it ended up 26-24. It all came down to game 3, and in the end Kiva won it 15-9. So the 14-1's finished 2nd in the pool and are still in contention for the Gold Bracket in the 14 Open Division. They headed home for an afternoon of swimming and were going to go down to Disney's Boardwalk and walk around this evening.
The 14-2's played in the morning at the convention center and had a GREAT day. They started off by winning their first match against Top Select in two straight sets. Their second match against was against Fort Wayne and they also won that in 2 straight sets. Their third and final match was against COA (who knows what it stands for). This third match went 3 sets and was very close. NL ended up winning the 3rd set 16-14 after key hits by Kaylee and Sydney. They finished 1st in their pool and are still in contention for the Gold Bracket in 14 Club. They will play at 8am on Friday in the Convention Center. They spent the afternoon swimming and watching movies.
The 15-2's were at the Convention Center in the afternoon. Their first match was against Sky High. They won it, but it took 3 games. In the third game they really poured it on and it 7-0 before the other team got a point. They then won their 2nd and third matches. They finished 1st in the pool and are still in contention for the Gold. They will play on Friday morning in the Convention Center.
The 15-3's played in the afternoon at the Convention Center. Their first match of the day was against a very tall team named Extech. The 15-3's won the first game, and then lost the next 2 games to lose the match. It was a good match, the other team was just bigger and stronger. In their next 2 matches the 15-3's had a tough time. They lost to Fort Wayne and then lost to KIVA. They ended up 0-3 and took 4th place in the pool. They are no longer in contention for the Gold bracket. They will play in the afternoon at the Convention Center.
The 15-4's started off the afternoon with an exciting 3 game win over Dunes. Game 3 was 15-13. They then played Blue Smoke 15s and lost that match pretty convincingly in 2 sets. Their last match was against Colorado Performance and it was thriller. They won both sets 25-23. This put them in 2nd place in the pool and they are still advancing toward the Gold Bracket. They will play in the morning at the Convention Center. The 154's have gone from seed 124 all the way to seed 28 right now. They are having a great tournament but life will be a bit tougher on Friday.
The 15-5's had a tough day today. They played in the Convention Center and lost all three matches today. They didn't do anything wrong, they were just plain beaten by better teams. This put them 4th in their pool and they will play in the afternoon on Friday at the Convention Center. They are no longer in contention for the Gold Bracket.
Editors Note: The 15-1 & 18-1 team have had a very long day. They got to the airport at 7am for a 9am flight. The flight was delayed until 10am, then until noon, then until 2pm, then until 4pm, then until 5pm. They finally loaded up at 5pm and taxied out, only to have another mechanical problem and have to come back to the gate. They fixed the problem about 2 hours later, but by then the crew had run out of legal work hours so they couldn't fly. Delta assured everyone that they were going to get another crew to fly them down that evening and so they made them load the plane up again. After another hour on the plane with no crew, Delta informed them that they couldn't find a crew so the flight was cancelled and would be rescheduled for the next morning at 7:00am. So at 8pm, after 13 hours at the airport, and numerous Delta lies about what was going to happen, they were then taken to a hotel to spend the night. If Delta had just said at noon "hey we are going to reschedule this flight for the next morning", everyone could have gone home or found alternative flights. It is clear that the Delta/Northwest merger has not been a good thing for the customer. The 151 & 181 will now fly down to Orlando at 7am.....hopefully.
