This was the final day of the tournament for the 12's, 13's, & 14's. Everyone except for the 14-1's played at the Orange County Convention Center, in the morning brackets.
First thing this morning, the 12-2's started off with another close three game match. They were excited when they won it, advancing to the finals of the "White Division". They were even more excited when they found out that our 12-1's had also won their first match in a close three, also advancing to the finals of the "White Division". That's right, it was KNL 12-1's versus KNL 12-2's in the championship match of the "White Division". The 12-2's came out fighting, taking the 12-1's all the way to 21-25. However, the 12-2's then came out sleeping in the last match allowing the 12-1's an extremely early lead of 1-12. It ended 4-25. Sheila said, "We finally showed up to play the last day, to beat MAVA 13s and advance to the finals." Officially, the 12-1's placed 27th and the 12-2's placed right behind them in the tournament, 28th, out of 40 teams. After watching the 14-2's play today, the 12-1's were going to head back to their house, clean up, and then go to Hard Rock Cafe for dinner. After dinner, they just went back to their house and played in the pool. After the 12-2's were done playing, they headed out to Cocoa Beach since they have a 7:00 flight tomorrow morning.

The 13-1's won their first match of the bracket this morning. They were down 20-24 in the first game of the second match of the bracket, but came back to win it 29-27. Then they won the second game. They lost the last bracket match in two games. They finished 2nd in the "Consolation Division", officially 14th out of 45 teams. Pictures from some of the 13-1's matches today can be seen by clicking here. After playing today, the 13-2's also headed out to Cocoa Beach, as they are also on the 7:00 flight tomorrow morning.
The 13-2's had a great day today, becoming the champions of the "White Division". They won their first match in three really close games. Mel had some great serves and Lisa had a lot of nice ups to help contribute to their win. After that match, the 13-2's won the final match in two games. The 14-2's fought extremely hard today and kept fighting down to the last point! They won their first match in a close three games. I thought Suzi was going to have a heart attack! Then, they won their next match in two games. Elly had some great serves! After the 12-1's were finished with their match, the headed over to the 14-2's court to cheer on their sisters. In the final match of the "White Division", they lost the first game, won the second game and then let the third game slip away. After playing they went down and spent the day at Cocoa Beach. They had talked about going out to lunch with the parents tomorrow and then having a bowling tournament before their flight leaves.
The 14-1's won their first match of bracket play today. But then they lost their next match to KIVA's top team. They finished 5th out of 57 teams overall. Great job 14-1's! I wasn't able to get any pictures of them because they were playing at Disney's Wide World of Sports, but Curt managed to get some decent shots. Click here to see them.
The 17-1's continued on their quest for gold today. They won both of the matches in their three-team pool. The first match they won in two games. They also won the second match in two games. Brooke was excited, she got to jump serve game-point of the last game, and she made it! By winning both matches they ended up with a good seed in the Gold Championship playoff bracket. The 15-1's played an overlapping timeframe today. They were in a three-team pool that started at noon. The girls won their first match in two, but then let their perfect record slip away losing the second match in three extremely close games! Karlee had some great serves and they all played really hard. This gets them second in their pool, allowing them to still advance to the Gold Bracket, it'll just be a slightly more difficult road to the championship match, but they can pull it off. This afternoon, the 15-3's, 16's, 17-2's, 17-'s and 18's played at the Convention Center. The 15-2's and 15-4's also played in the afternoon, but they played at Disney Wide World of Sports, so I do not have any pictures of them.
The 15-2's lost their first match in a close three-game match. Then they lost the second match in two close games. Then, they lost their third match, again, in two close games. They ended up finishing in 4th in their pool, but all the games were really close.
The 15-4's also lost their first match in three games. They won their second match in two really close games. Then, they lost their third match in two really close games. They finished 3rd in their pool.

Today, the 17-2's were in a three-team pool. They won both of their matches in two games each. However, they lost their crossover match in two games. The 16-1's were very excited when they arrived at the convention center, Chad allowed them to lay out in the sun for 30 minutes this morning! On the court, they did not continue their winning streak, but that is okay. They won the first two matches in two games each. But then, Sports Performance 16 Elite gave them a wake up call in the third match. They ended up coming in 2nd in their pool. The 16-2's also finished 1st in their pool today. They won their first match in a close three. Then, they won their second match in two games. Lastly, they won their third match. The 18-2's lost their first match in two really close games. They played hard. Then, they continued to play hard in their second game, but again, lost it in two really close games. The 18-1's had a great day! They were in a three team pool that didn't start until 5:30, so they were well-rested and ready to go. They came out strong in their first match, winning in two games easily. They also won in two games in their second match. And finished first in their pool.
