All of the pictures taken this year are posted on our photo website http://lightsphotos.ifp3.com.

Mizuno Northern Lights 16-2's place 2nd at the AAU National Championships 16 Club

Today was our final day of play for the remaining teams.

Pictures today were only taken of the 16-2 team since I missed them the other 3 days.

18-2's won their 3 matches in the bracket . They finished their Northern Lights Junior Olympic careers at 21st in AAU National Club Championships. They spent the evening after the 16-2's final in Downtown Disney.

17-1's played at 8:00am and lost their first match in 2 sets. This wasn't a great tournament for them. Hopefully they can have a much better event at USJNC's in Reno. They officially finished 21st in the 17 Open Division.

17-2's played their first match at 10am and lost that in 3 sets. They ended up finishing 21st in the 17 Club Division.

The 17-3's played at 9am this morning. They also lost their match in 2 sets. They ended up finishing 61st in the 17 Club Division.

16-1's played in the Jostens center today. They won all three of their matches today winning the Consolation Bracket and placing 17th overall in the 16 Open Division. This tournament had just a few points gone the other way they would have been in the top 10.

16-2's were in the Gold Championship Bracket today. They easily won their first match in the Gold Bracket. Their second match was against M-1 16-1's. Why did we come to Florida to play them??? They won the match in 2 straight games which puts in the Semi Finals and automatically guarantees them of a Medal and at least a 3rd place finish. In the Semi Final match they played Club South. They were a big and physical team. In game 1 we were down 5-13 but came back to win it. They then lost the 2nd game which meant we were playing a 3rd game. Game 3 was very close all the way. At one point we were down 2 points, and one point Club South was serving for match point. But the 16-2's fought back and won it 16-14 putting them in the Finals against 1st Alliance. The finals were in the Milkhouse on the main courts. All of the teams (16's-18's) were in attendance supporting the 16-2's. The first game did not go well, we lost it 25-14. The second game was much closer and neither team was ever ahead by more than 2 points. In the end we lost 26-24, taking 2nd place in the AAU National Championships 16 Club. Brianne Stamer, Taylor Lockett, and Alli Butler were named All American. Congratulations to the Northern Lights 16-2 team for their 2nd place finish....we are extremely proud of you.

16-3's lost their first match of the day in 2 straight sets. They officially finished 21st in the 16 Club Division.

16-4's lost their first match of the day in 2 straight sets. They officially finished 67th in the 16 Club Division.

16-5's won their first match of the day and then lost their 2nd match of the day. They officially finished 105th in the 16 Club Division.

It's been another fun year in Orlando at the AAU National Championships. All of the teams represented Northern Lights well, and I received numerous compliments about how nice our players were and how well trained they are. Thanks everyone for another fun trip.
