Mizuno Northern Lights Qualifier

Open Bid Trickle-Down Possibilities-Week 1

All 1^st place matches and 3^rd Place matches will be played regardless of the trickle down in a division.  These matches are “medal” matches and require a winner to award the correct medals.

Additional matches may or may not be required to determine trickle down bids.  Each age division is different and the procedures used at the Northern Lights Qualifier (NLQ) are listed below.

The lowest an Open Division bid will trickle down to is 6^th Place.   This was changed at the YJOV meetings in October 2007.

Teams which place 1^st, 2^nd, or 3^rd are required to report to the Winner’s Circle area with their entire team to receive their awards and sign for acceptance of any appropriate bids.

18 Open

There are 6 teams already Qualified in this division.  They are:

• AVA of Texas 18 Asics
• Front Range 18 Black
• Invasion 18 Black
• Mizuno M1 181
• Mizuno MN Select 18-1
• Nebraska Elite RAW-Legacy

Depending on where these teams finish will determine how far the 3 bids allocated to the NLQ will trickle down.   No teams outside of the Third Round Gold Pools will receive a bid (this would be below 6^th, see above).

Six already Qualified teams in 16 Open Gold Pools

If there are 6 teams already qualified in the Third Round Gold Pools (16OGDP1 or 16OGDP2), there will be no trickle down bids and no teams at this event will receive a bid.

Three or Four or Five already Qualified teams in 18 Open Gold Pools

If there are 3 or 4 or 5 teams already qualified in the Third Round Gold Pools (18OGDP1 or 18OGDP2), finish in those pools will not affect the need for further matches.  All remaining unqualified teams in the Gold Pools will receive a bid.   Match 18OGDTM1 will not be played.  

Two already Qualified teams in 18 Open Gold Pools

If there are 2 teams already qualified in Third Round Gold Pools (18OGDP1 or 18OGDP2), finish in those pools will affect the need for further matches.

· If none of the already qualified teams finish in 3^rd place in either pool.  All unqualified teams in pool finish positions 1 & 2 will receive a bid. Match 18OGDT1M1 will be played as scheduled and the winner will receive a bid.

· If only one already qualified team finishes in 3^rd place in either pool then all unqualified teams in positions 1 & 2 of each pool will receive a bid. Match 18OGDT1M1 will not be played.

· If two already qualified teams finish in 3^rd place in the pools, the two first place teams in each pool will each receive a bid,  the winner of the 3^rd/4^th place match will receive a bid.   Match 18OGDT1M1 will not be played.

One already Qualified team in the 18 Open Gold Pools

If there is one team already qualified in Third Round Gold Pools (18OGDP1 or 18OGDP2), the following rules apply.

· If the already qualified team finishes in 1^st or 2^nd place, in their pool, then all unqualified teams in positions 1 & 2 of each pool will receive a bid. Match 18OGDT1M1 will not be played.

· If the already qualified team finishes 3^rd in their pool, then the two first place teams in each pool will each receive a bid and the winner of the 3^rd/4^th place match will receive a bid.   Match 18OGDT1M1 will not be played.

No previously Qualified teams in the 18 Open Gold Pools

If there are no previously qualified teams in the Third Round Gold Pools (18OGDP1 or 18OGDP2), the two first place teams in each pool will each receive a bid and the winner of the 3^rd/4^th place match will receive a bid.   Match 18OGDT1M1 will not be played.

17 Open

There are 3 teams already Qualified in this division.  They are:

• Invasion 17 Black
• KNVBC - Topeka Impact
• NKYVC 17-1 Tsunami

Depending on where these teams finish will determine how far the 3 bids allocated to the NLQ will trickle down.   No teams outside of the Third Round Gold Pools will receive a bid (this would be below 6^th, see above).

Three or Four already Qualified teams in 17 Open Gold Pools

If there are 3 or 4 teams already qualified in the Third Round Gold Pools (17OGDP1 or 17OGDP2), finish in those pools will not affect the need for further matches.  All remaining unqualified teams in the Gold Pools will receive a bid.   Match 17OGDTM1 will not be played.  

Two already Qualified teams in 17 Open Gold Pools

If there are 2 teams already qualified in Third Round Gold Pools (17OGDP1 or 17OGDP2), finish in those pools will affect the need for further matches.

· If none of the already qualified teams finish in 3^rd place in either pool.  All unqualified teams in pool finish positions 1 & 2 will receive a bid. Match 17OGDT1M1 will be played as scheduled and the winner will receive a bid.

· If only one already qualified team finishes in 3^rd place in either pool then all unqualified teams in positions 1 & 2 of each pool will receive a bid. Match 17OGDT1M1 will not be played.

· If two already qualified teams finish in 3^rd place in the pools, the two first place teams in each pool will each receive a bid,  the winner of the 3^rd/4^th place match will receive a bid.   Match 17OGDT1M1 will not be played.

One already Qualified team in the 17 Open Gold Pools

If there is one team already qualified in Third Round Gold Pools (17OGDP1 or 17OGDP2), the following rules apply.

16 Open

There are 6 teams already Qualified in this division.  They are:

• Asics MAVS 161
• KC Extreme 16 Red
• Mizuno Northern Lights 161
• Rockwood Thunder 161
• Tampa Bay 16
• Team St Louis 161

Depending on where these teams finish will determine how far the 3 bids allocated to the NLQ will trickle down.   No teams outside of the Third Round Gold Pools will receive a bid (this would be below 6^th, see above).

Six already Qualified teams in 16 Open Gold Pools

If there are 6 teams already qualified in the Third Round Gold Pools (16OGDP1 or 16OGDP2), there will be no trickle down bids and no teams at this event will receive a bid.
