Open Bid Trickle-Down Possibilities-Week 2

All 1^st place matches and 3^rd Place matches will be played regardless of the trickle down in a division. These matches are “medal” matches and require a winner to award the correct medals.

Additional matches may or may not be required to determine trickle down bids. Each age division is different and the procedures used at the Northern Lights Qualifier (NLQ) are listed below.

The lowest an Open Division bid will trickle down to is 6^th Place. This was changed at the YJOV meetings in October 2007.

Teams which place 1^st, 2^nd, or 3^rd are required to report to the Winner’s Circle area with their entire team to receive their awards and sign for acceptance of any appropriate bids.

14 Open

There is one team already Qualified in this division. They are:

Depending on where this team finishes will determine how many of the 4 teams in the Third Round Gold Pool (14OGDP1) will receive a bid.

One already Qualified team in the 14 Open Gold Pools

If there is 1 team already qualified in Third Round Gold Pool (14OGDP1), then all 3 unqualified teams will receive a bid regardless of their final finish in the pool. There will be no tie breaking games played and the teams’ final finish will be ranked by game%, point %.

No previously Qualified teams in the 14 Open Gold Pool

The finish order ranking of the Third Round Gold Pool (14OGDP1) will determine who gets the bids. Teams that finish 1^st, 2^nd, or 3^rd will receive a bid. The appropriate Tie Breaking procedures will used to break ties in this pool. A three way tie for 1^st will not have tie breaking games played, the teams’ final finish will be ranked by game%, point %. A three way tie for 2^nd will have tie breaking games played. (see the Tie Breaking Procedure Document)

15 Open

There are 5 teams already Qualified in this division. They are:

A5 Mizuno 15-1 Heidi
KC POWER 15-1
Mizuno M1 151
Rockwood Thunder151
St. Louis CYC 15 Green

Depending on where these teams finish will determine how far the 3 bids allocated to the NLQ will trickle down. No teams outside of the Third Round Gold Pools will receive a bid (this would be below 6^th, see above).

Three, Four, or Five already Qualified teams in 15 Open Gold Pools

If there are 3, 4, or 5 teams already qualified in the Third Round Gold Pools (15OGDP1 or 15OGDP2), finish in those pools will not affect the need for further matches. All remaining unqualified teams in the Gold Pools will receive a bid. Match 15OGDTM1 will not be played.

Two already Qualified teams in 15 Open Gold Pools

If there are 2 teams already qualified in Third Round Gold Pools (15OGDP1 or 15OGDP2), finish in those pools will affect the need for further matches.

· If none of the already qualified teams finish in 3^rd place in either pool. All unqualified teams in pool finish positions 1 & 2 will receive a bid. Match 15OGDT1M1 will be played as scheduled and the winner will receive a bid.

· If only one already qualified team finishes in 3^rd place in either pool then all unqualified teams in positions 1 & 2 of each pool will receive a bid. Match 15OGDT1M1 will not be played.

· If two already qualified teams finish in 3^rd place in the pools, the two first place teams in each pool will each receive a bid, the winner of the 3^rd/4^th place match will receive a bid. Match 15OGDT1M1 will not be played.

One already Qualified team in the 15 Open Gold Pools

If there is one team already qualified in Third Round Gold Pools (15OGDP1 or 15OGDP2), the following rules apply.

· If the already qualified team finishes in 1^st or 2^nd place, in their pool, then all unqualified teams in positions 1 & 2 of each pool will receive a bid. Match 15OGDT1M1 will not be played.

· If the already qualified team finishes 3^rd in their pool, then the two first place teams in each pool will each receive a bid and the winner of the 3^rd/4^th place match will receive a bid. Match 15OGDT1M1 will not be played.

No previously Qualified teams in the 15 Open Gold Pools

If there are no previously qualified teams in the Third Round Gold Pools (15OGDP1 or 15OGDP2), the two first place teams in each pool will each receive a bid and the winner of the 3^rd/4^th place match will receive a bid. Match 15OGDT1M1 will not be played.
