Coaches are responsible for reading both the Schedule and the Special Information section for each league date. Please note that although the dates for all leagues are listed here, information about a specific date may not be available until the Wednesday prior to that event.

Northern Lights Power League is governed by USA Volleyball and North Country Region. All officiating rules need to be adheared to unless otherwise noted below. The biggest complaint is when coaches are not helping their team officiate. Please review the following rules from Norther Country Region.

JUNIOR OLYMPIC TEAM CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Each JO team must have qualified referees and qualified scorekeepers. The referees and scorekeepers may be JO players, a registered adult or any registered coach.

The head coach, assistant coach or a registered adult must be either the FIRST or SECOND referee who is registered with North Country Region USA Volleyball and has been to an official's clinic.

New warmup duration and format for each round!!

1	10 minutes	2 minutes shared ball handling, 4 min on the net for higher seed, 4 min on the net for lower seed.
2	10 minutes	2 minutes shared ball handling, 4 min on the net for higher seed, 4 min on the net for lower seed.
3	7 minutes	1 minute shared ball handling, 3 min on the net for higher seed, 3 min on the net for lower seed.
4	7 minutes	1 minute shared ball handling, 3 min on the net for higher seed, 3 min on the net for lower seed.
5	7 minutes	1 minute shared ball handling, 3 min on the net for higher seed, 3 min on the net for lower seed.
6	7 minutes	1 minute shared ball handling, 3 min on the net for higher seed, 3 min on the net for lower seed.

As per USAV rules, during warmups teams are not allowed to ball handle while the other team has exclusive use of the court. This applies to all court surfaces and spectator areas.

The higher seed is defined as the team which listed higher in the schedule or the team which is on top of the bracket. For example, if the match is A vs C then team in the A position is the higher seed.

Northern Lights Power League & May Events Modified Rules

In Midwest Volleyball Warehouse, the divider curtains between courts, the beam supporting the curtains, and the walls are out of bounds. The remainder of the ceiling is in bounds per USAV rules.

The Libero is permitted to serve in all age divisions of the Power League except the Open Division.

Midwest Volleyball Warehouse Facility Rules

We are pleased to be playing in a facility that is probably the finest 8 court volleyball facility in the USA. To maintain this facility in top condition and have a safe operating environment we need everyone's cooperation in abiding by following policies and rules. Staff will be at the door to enforce these rules.

Admission for the Power League is $4 for adults and $2 for High School and younger students. Age 5 & under is free.
Coaches must show their power league pass or they will be charged admission.
No volleyballs or ball carts may be brought into the building or taken out. Each court will have balls and ball carts on them.
No outside food / drink is permitted in the building. This includes coffee purchased at an outside store.
No coolers may be left on the sidewalks or under the front entryway.
Gum is not permitted in the facility.
No portable / folding chairs may be brought into the building. You may bring in a seat cushion for sitting on the bleachers.
Midwest Volleyball is a smoke and alcohol free building. Here is our alcohol policy.
All cars must be parked in the parking lot around the building. The City of Burnsville will be posting "No Parking" signs on the street and they will ticket/tow cars parked on the street.
It is illegal to drive over a curb and park on the Right of Way. The police will ticket all cars that do this.
To avoid obstructing fire lanes and being towed, view our Parking Map. There is no parallel parking anywhere on the property. All parking is "head in" parking. Click here for our parking guidelines & tow information.
