Adam Beamer |
Adam has more elite club coaching experience than any other coach in the area.
This past year his 17-1 team won the 17 Open AAU National Championship, and
finished 2nd in the 17 Open Division at the USJO National Championships. His 22
years of experience have given him 22 National Tournament appearances with 5
National Championships and 10 top ten finishes. He is the only coach in
Minnesota to have led his team to a USJO National Championship which he did
four years ago in the 17 Open Division. He is the only coach in Minnesota to
have qualified and medaled teams in the 16 Open, 17 Open, and 18 Open divisions
at USJO Nationals - proving his ability to get the most out of any age group.
He has coached 27 All Americans, was the volunteer assistant coach at the
University of Minnesota in 2008, and the assistant coach in 1994. In 2006 Adam
coached our 17-1 team to a 52-0 season winning both the USJO Championships and
the AAU Championships. Adam has also coached at Jefferson High School, Mosquito
Coast Jrs, and Minnesota Jrs. Besides his coaching Adam co-directs the entire
club operation along with Curt Glesmann.

Dave Manka |
Dave has been coaching for 15+ years. He has experience as an assistant coach
at the University of Minnesota, and also as an assistant at NDSU. Prior to that
he was in the high school ranks at Irondale.

Bryan Kellen |
Bryan is entering his 6th year at Northern Lights. Last year he took the year
off to be with his two young children, but he just couldn't stay away from the
fun at Northern Lights. Previously he was the assistant coach for 3 years of
our 17-1 National Championship team. Bryan came to Northern Lights with a
background of coaching 4 years in High School at Cuba City High School in
Wisconsin , numerous camps at UW Platteville & various schools, and playing
intercollegiate Men's club volleyball. He has is an engineer for Seagate in
Bloomington and is excited to be back coaching once again with Northern Lights.

Laura Bush |
Laura is in her 2nd year at Northern Lights. She is a full time assistant coach
at the University of Minnesota with the Golden Gophers Volleyball Team. Having
previously played as middle blocker Laura brings a wealth of high level
experience to our middles. She also is a great resource for those recruiting
questions that many of our club players ask.

Chad Becker |
Chad is entering his 10th year at Northern Lights, and his 8th year as a full
time staff member of the club. Last year, Chad led our 15-1 team to win the
Colorado Crossroads and Northern Lights National Qualifiers, a 3rd place finish
at the AAU National Championship and a 9th place finish at the USJO Nationals.
In 2007, Chad coached our highly successful 15-1 team to win the AAU National
Championships and a 3rd place finish at the 15 Open USJO National
Championships. He has coached 11 All Americans. Chad has also been coaching for
13 years at Eden Prairie High School. Prior to his association with Northern
Lights, Chad coached 3 years at Club Tonka, and 5 years with the Eden Prairie
Girls Athletic Association.

Kari Raymond |
Now in her 7th year with Northern Lights Kari is one of our primary age
division lead coaches. In this role she handles the practice planning for 6-8
teams. In additiona last year she was the head coach for our 16-3 team and
coordinated our middle blocker training. In her 7 years with Northern Lights
she has coached teams that have won the AAU National Championship and placed as
high as 3rd at USJO Nationals. Kari is a former middle blocker at Northern
Lights. She played with us for two years, graduated and attended Drake
University. While at Drake she not only played and studied, but she also
coached Jrs for IPVA. After graduating Kari took a teaching job in Iowa and
coached/directed a club for 2 years in Indianola. Kari then moved back to the
Twin Cities to teach math & coach at the Bloomington Schools. She is
currently a math teacher at Rosemount HS.

Rachel Langseth |
Rachel is in her 3rd year at Northern Lights. She is a former middle blocker
from the University of Minnesota Duluth campus. For the last two years she has
assisted Jeff Hoeg at the 18's age level. She was extremely helpful in
answering many of our 18's various questions and concerns about their upcoming
college years. We are pleased to have Rachel in the gym again this year.

Courtney Cowles |
Courtney returns to Northern Lights after completing her 4 years of eligibility
at North Carolina. There she was their setter and even was featured on a huge
roadside billboard advertising the college program! Courtney played at Northern
Lights for 4 years before going off to college. She has coached numerous summer
camps with us. We are happy to have Courtney back in the gym full time as a
coach.

|
Pam Dombeck |
Pam has coached at Northern Lights for 12 years in ages from 16-18's. This past
season Pam's 16-1 team took 3rd at the USJO National Championships and also
placed 3rd in the 16 Open Division at the AAU National Championships. Her teams
have always Qualified for USJO Nationals, they have won numerous regional
championships, won a few Qualifiers, and placed as high as 3rd at the USJO
National Championships. Pam played for 4 years at the University of Minnesota,
was the assistant coach at the U of M from 1991-1993, and was the interim head
coach in1994. Pam is currently a teacher at Hastings High School.

Sean Haugen |
Sean is starting his 7th year with Northern Lights, and 5th year as a Head
Coach. His teams have placed as high as 3rd at AAU Nationals and 5th at USAV
Nationals. Last year Sean co-coached with Lynne McDonald on our 18-1 team. They
placed 2nd in an International Tournament in Italy, which Sean said was a trip
of a lifetime! Sean previously coached at Totino Grace for eight years, the
last three as head coach. He has played volleyball for over 15 years and was a
MSHSL High School official and a USAV Official.

Sunny Choh |
Sunny is in her 5th year at Northern Lights. Last year Sunny worked as a part
time assistant on our 17-2 team as she completed her Ph.D. Two years ago, Sunny
head coached our 16-2 team, which boasted a 79-4 record. They won the Omaha
President's Day Classic, the Northern Lights Qualifier, and an AAU National
Championship. She has the ability to not only teach skills, but also bring a
team together into a single working unit. Sunny rejoined Northern Lights after
having graduated from the club 10 years ago. She has a Ph.D. in the Medical
Field and is currently teaching college classes.

Eugene Kim |
Eugene comes to us from Southern California. Out there he coached both boys and
girls teams. He is an former college player that is now in his 3rd year of law
school at the U of M. Eugene is excited about coaching with Northern Lights
this year, and combined with Sunny they will be one of the smartest coaching
teams on our staff!

Jason Uller |
Jason is in his 3rd year at Northern Lights. Last year he was the head coach
for our 17-4 team which won the 17's division of the East Coast Championships!
Straight from California Jason brings with him a knowledge and desire for the
game that will allow him to train high school athletes to become the best they
can be. Jason played for Ohio State University, and Santa Monica, before
transferring to UCLA. He is currently completing his final year of law school
at the University of Minnesota.

Joanna Lyons |
Joanna is in her 4th year at Northern Lights. Last year she was the head coach
of our 15-5 team. Joanna has also coached at Shakopee HS for the 4 years at
either the B squad or JV level. She has coached 12's for the Shakopee JO
program.

Mike Domeier |
This is Mike's 4th year at Northern Lights. Last year, Mike coached our 15-3
team. In 2007, he led our 16-3 team to qualify for USJO Nationals. His players
have nothing but great things to say about him, and he loves working with kids.
Previously Mike spent 3 years working with a Jr club out of Norwood-Young
America, where he was responsible for coaching and organizing the club.

Tawny Dahmes |
Tawny has been with Northern Lighs for 6 years. The first 5 of them as a player
and last year as a coach with our 15-3 team. Tawny played on Northern Lights
2006 National Championship team and also has a High School State Championship
title. She has worked camps for 3 years at Northern Lights and is one of the
players favorite camp coaches. She is a stud on defense, and still loves to
play volleyball whenever she can.

Jen is starting her 5th year with Northern Lights. Last year she was the
assistant coach on our highly successful 17-1 team. Jen is a former AVCA All
American outside hitter from Mankato State University. She has coached Jrs for
9 years and done numerous camps. She also spent one year as an assistant coach
at Mankato. Jen is currently coaching high school at Harding and working as a
Special Education Assistant.

Hailey Cowles |
Hailey is in her 8th year at Northern Lights. 5 years as a player, and 3 years
as a coach. Hailey played on Northern Lights 2006 National Championship team,
and is now a Golden Gopher. Last year Hailey assisted on our 15-1 team and was
ranked by the players as one of their most favorite coaches in the club. We are
proud to watch Hailey not only on the court at the University of Minnesota, but
also on the court at Northern Lights.

Andy Guggisberg |
Andy is back !!
After having taken a year to coach with TCA in California, Andy has returned to
Northern Lights for his 4th year. Andy runs our 13's & 14's programs as a
lead coach, is the head coach for our summer camps, and also handles our youth
and middle school clinics in the fall. In his 3rd year at Northern Lights he
also had responsibility for running half of our 16's & 17's programs. He
previously coached 2 years with Sports Performance in Chicago. There he worked
with 12's, 13's, and 14's and helped run the facility. Originally from New Ulm
Minnesota, Andy coached Blaine Jrs and Mpls Magic Jrs for 3 years in Minnesota
before going to Chicago.

Jessica Oldenburg |
Jessica is starting her 3rd year as a coach at Northern Lights. Last year she
assisted Chad on the highly successful 15-1 team. She is a former Northern
Lights player who attended Univ North Carolina Charlotte as a 4 year starter.
She has coached camps at UNC and has worked with players in her home town of
Belle Plaine. Now graduated and back in Minnesota Jessica loves working with
our dedicated athletes.

Jessica is starting her coaching carreer after having graduated from Creighton
University where she played as a middle blocker for 4 years. Jessica also
graduated from Northern Lights where she played for 4 years. Since leaving
Northern Lights as a player, she has come back and coached numerous summer
camps with us. We are happy to have Jessica back in the gym once again. |

Jackie Richter |
Jackie is in her 3rd year at Northern Lights. Last year she coached probably
our most successful team ever, our 17-3 team. She led them to a Regional
Championship and the 17 Club AAU National Championship. Her players love her
and fiercely stand behind her. Jackie has been coaching for Minneapolis
Southwest High School for the past 5 years. She taken that program from being
at the bottom to now being tops in the conferance.

Maggie McNamara
|
Maggie McNamara graduated from Northern Lights in 2006 after having played as
our top setter for 4 years. She played 4 years at Concordia College in St. Paul
where she has lead her team as the setter to 2 NCAA Division II National
Championships! She is a two time All American, and has coached at our summer
camps. We are very pleased to have Maggie back in the gym after her final
college season ends this December. Maybe she'll even have added another
National Championship by that time!

Gene McBride
|
Gene has coached with Northern Lights for 10+ years at age levels 12's- 17's.
Last year Gene worked with our 17's age group. He has also coached at the High
School level for 10+ years and has had two daughters go through the Northern
Lights and play in college. In fact this year will be the first time in 10
years that Northern Lights has not had one of his daughters playing for us.

Karyn is in her 3rd year of coaching for Northern Lights. Last year she
assisted with our 16-4 team. She is a former player of the University of
Minnesota and has coached with Northern Lights in summer camps.

Kristin Speedling |
This is Kristin's first year with Northern Lights. Kristin has several years of
coaching experience with Heartland Volleyball Club, and has coached various
camps and clinics throughout the state. Kristin played three years at St. Cloud
State University where she was a Communications major. Kristin played High
School volleyball at Wabasha-Kellogg and club for Southern Minnesota Volleyball
(SMV). |

Chad Becker |
Chad is entering his 10th year at Northern Lights, and his 8th year as a full
time staff member of the club. Chad has been the lead coach in our 15's age
division for the past 7 years and the lead coach in our 12's age division for
the past 4 years. His strong skill development training has unquestionably
given our players the basis they need for high level competition. Our older age
level teams' success in the past few years are a direct result of Chad's
dedication to teaching our young players strong basic skills.

Walt Weaver |
Walt Weaver is truly "The Master" of Minnesota coaches. He is legendary for his
28 year coaching record at Apple Valley High School. Walt is one of the
founders of Junior Volleyball in Minnesota back in 1979, and has coached Junior
teams longer than any other coach in the state. His Jr teams have finished as
high as 5th at the USJO Championships in the 18's Division. In addition to
coaching High School and Jr players, Walt was the head coach of the Minnesota
Monarchs, a professional league that ran in the late 1980's. He is a master of
teaching basic skills to any age level player, and is known for his unmatched
ability to analyze his team's strengths and weaknesses and then get the most
out of them. Northern Lights is extremely pleased to have Walt on staff and we
are looking forward to learning from his vast experience. He head-coached our
14-1 team last year, and led them to a 3rd place bronze medal finish in the 14
Open Division at AAU Nationals.

Steve Getchell |
Steve Getchell is another legend in the Minnesota volleyball community. Steve
has coached volleyball for the past 25+ years. He has coached at numerous
schools and is currently the Head coach at Maple Grove High School. Steve and
Walt also run the MVI Volleyball Camps. Steve is in 3rd year at Northern
Lights. Last year he assisted Walt with the 14-1 team.

Colleen Chambers |
Colleen Chambers is one of the top high school coaches in Minnesota. She has
over 25 years of coaching experience and last year led the Jordan High School
team to a State Title. This year she retired from High School coaching and has
decided to devote more time to coaching club and watching her daughters play.
We are very happy to have Colleen on staff.

Marlon Johnson |
Marlon has coached at Northern Lights for 11 years working with ages 14-16's.
Last year Marlon worked with Tibi Mozes on our 15-2 team which won the 15's
Regional Qualification Championship defeating other clubs "1's" teams. For the
past 5 years Marlon has coached at the 15's & 16's level working with Chad,
Lynne & Kari. Marlon has coached for the past 15 years at various levels,
and in what he refers to as his "younger days" he was an active player. Marlon
combines loads of enthusiasm with solid knowledge to get the most out his
players

Raina is in her 4th year at Northern Lights. Last year her 16-2 team earned an
American Bid for USJO Nationals and took 9th at the AAU National Championships.
Raina previously played for Northern Lights during her high school career.
Raina has had many players and parents informing the staff of the wonderful job
she does.

Nathan is in his 2nd year at Northern Lights. Last year he assisted on our 14-4
team. Nathan has also coached for Edina HS for two seasons, and played for the
UMD Men's Club team from 2003-07.

Linda Laird |
Linda is starting her 6th year at Northern Lights. She has coached a variety of
ages ranging from 12's- 15's. A very sound technical coach, Linda understands
the small aspects of the game that make a big difference. Linda's oldest
daughter, Monica Laird, played for 6 years at Northern Lights as one of our top
setters. Linda's youngest daughter Sophie graduated last year and holds the
record for the longest number of years as a player at Northern Lights....9
years.

Nathan Erdahl |
This is Nathan's first year with Northern Lights. He is currently the
B-Squad coach at Lakeville South under the direction of Jen Nelson.
Nathan is a setter and plays for the University of Minnesota Men's
Volleyball Club Team.

Maddie Lenhard |
Maddie is starting her 2nd year at Northern Lights. Last year she worked in our
13's program. She is a former Northern Lights setter, having played with us for
4 years. She is currently a Junior at Carleton College, where she majors in
Biology and plays for the Knights. Her coaching experience includes head
coaching for Northfield Juniors and working Northern Lights summer camps.
Maddie will be working part time as she will be studying abroad for several
months this winter. |

Amy Henry
|
Amy is new to the Northern Lights team, having just moved into the area from
Iowa. Amy was an All-American at Eastern Kentucky University where she
was a Rightside / Middle. Amy has 4 years of club coaching
experience in California, coached the Men's Club team at EKU, and was
an Assistant Coach at Minnetonka. Amy is excited to be starting her new
career at Northern Lights.

Pamela Morrison |
Pamela Morrison joins the Northern Lights staff eager to get back into the
volleyball world. Pamela played and managed her High School team in
Delaware. She has an 8 year old daughter and is a Sr. Staff Engineer for

Michelle Miller |
Michelle has coached with Northern Lights for the last 13 years. Two years ago
she led the 14-1 team to qualifying for USJO Nationals, and three years ago
Michelle led her 14-1 team to a 5th place finish in the 14 Open Division of the
USJO Nationals and a 5th place finish at AAU Nationals. She is the only coach
in Minnesota to qualify teams in multiple years in the 14 Open Division of USJO
Nationals. Michelle has coached at Eastview, Kennedy, Rosemount and Burnsville
High Schools. Prior to coaching Michelle played at the University of Minnesota
as a setter. With her strong basic skill development Michelle always gives our
14's a good base for the future.

Kim is in her 4th year at Northern Lights. Last year she was the assistant to
our 14-2 team. Kim is a teacher in the Burnsville School district and coaches
volleyball at Metcalf Junior HS. She is originally from Thief River Falls where
she played during her high school days. She attended University of North Dakota
in Grand Forks. |

Crystal Dohlman
|
Crystal is in her 4th year at Northern Lights. Shewas the assistant coach on
our 13-1 team last season. Prior to working for Northern Lighs she coached for
two very successful seasons at New Prague. She has coached numerous camps,
including the Northern Lights camps the past four summers. She is currently
coaching Lakeville South Junior Varsity this fall. Crystal played with Northern
Lights during her high school career, but an injury prevented her from playing
in college. Crystal now has taken on coaching very passionately.

Lindsay Brown |
Lindsey is in her 4th year at Northern Lights. She took last year off to
complete her Masters Degree, but couldn't wait to get back in the gym. Two
years ago she was the assistant to our very successful 13-1 team that won the
Regionals and qualified for the USJO Nationals. Lindsey graduated from Clark
College in Iowa where she also played. Lindsey played in High School and at
Clark College. She has coached two years at the high school and club level in
Iowa. Lindsey's passion for the game and helping others is very apparent the
first time you speak with her. She is highly energetic and with a degree in
communication has many ways to get her point across.

Deanna Lemke |
Deanna is in her 6th year at Northern Lights. Last year she head coached our
13-2 team which won the Prep Volleyball Classic. Deanna played volleyball for
McGregor High School. She is an avid co-rec and women's player for the last 14
years. Deanna has coached camps for the Chaska area and is director of the
Shakopee schools' in-house league, as well as a Middle School / Junior High
coach.

Erin Flynn |
Erin is returning for her 3rd year at Northern Lights. Last year she assisted
on our very strong 13-2 team. Two years ago she assisted at our 17-2's age
level which finished 5th at AAU Nationals. Erin played for the University of
Minnesota- Crookston and has a great knowledge of the game. She previously
coached in Crookston for two years.

Laela Zabransky |
This is Laela Zabransky's first year with Northern Lights. Laela
previously coached with Apple Valley Juniors working with their 12 and 14 year
old teams. Laela is an accomplished player both indoors and
outdoors. Laela played High School for the North Branch Vikings.

Garrett Wardell |
Garrett is starting his second year at Northern Lights. Last year he was the
assistant on our 11-1 team. He is currently a student at Normandale Community
College.

Vicki Seliger |
Vicki was the head coach of our very successful 13-1 team last year. She is a
graduate of Northern Lights back when it was known as North Country Jrs. (We
won't say how long ago that was.) She has coached on and off at Northern Lights
over the years, and is currently the head coach at Hopkins High School. Vicki
is a graduate of Iowa State where she played as a middle blocker.

Mark Roesner |
Mark is in his 4th year of coaching at Northern Lights. Last year he was the
head coach of our very successful 12-1 team! They won numerous tournaments
including the Northern Lights Qualifier. He also placed 5th at the AAU National
Championships.

Andrea Hannem |
Andrea is in her 3rd year at Northern Lights. Last year she was the head coach
of our 14-3 team which won numerous tournaments and placed 1st in the Northern
Lights power league. She is a former player college player who is now in
pharmacy school. She loves working with young players and is looking forward to
another great year at Northern Lights.

Brendan Erickson |
Brendan is in his 3rd year at Northern Lights. Last year he worked with Andrea
as an assistant on our 14-3 team. He has been around volleyball most of his
life, and played club ball for Bloomington during high school. He is currently
a Sr. at St. Thomas, majoring in HR Management and Business Communication.

Gretchen Gilbertson |
Gretchen is in her 3rd year at Northern Lights. Last year she Head coached our
13-3 team. Prior to that she assisted in our 12's program.Previously she has
coached at the 12's age level for Apple Valley and at the 14's age level for
Burnsville. Gretchen has also coached Apple Valley's South Metro team for 4
years.

Kathi is in her 3rd year with Northern Lights. Last season, Kathi was the
assistant for our 12-2 team. Prior to working for Northern Lights, she coached
for the Eden Prairie Volleyball Assocation, as well as several recreational

division for the past 7 years and the lead coach in our 12's age division for
the past 4 years. His strong skill development training has unquestionably
given our players the basis they need for high level competition. Our older age
level teams' success in the past few years are a direct result of Chad's
dedication to teaching our young players strong basic skills.

Doug VanBenthuysen |
Doug is starting his 4th year at Northern Lights. Last year he head coached our
12-2 team. He has worked in the 12's and 13's level at Lights for 4 years. He
previously coached 4 years with Club Extreme Jrs. He holds a CAP I coaching
certification, and has seen his oldest daughter go from 12's - 18's at Northern
Lights. Doug and his wife Lynne, along with Curt Glesmann own and operate
Midwest Volleyball Warehouse.

Johnna Wangensteen |
Johnna is in her 3rd year at Northern Lights. Last year she assisted in our
15's program with the 15-5 team. Johnna is currently assisting the Woodbury
high school program. She has over 30 years of playing experience and has
coached at an elite level before. Johnna will share her abundant knowledge and
excitement for the game with our 15's

Al Andersen |
Al is new to the Northern Lights team, however he has been coaching youth
volleyball for the past 6 years in Shakopee. We welcome him to the Northern
Lights family.

Linda Laird |
Linda is starting her 6th year at Northern Lights. She has coached a variety of
ages ranging from 12's - 15's. A very sound technical coach, Linda understands
the small aspects of the game that make a big difference. Linda's oldest
daughter, Monica Laird, played for 6 years at Northern Lights as one of our top
setters. Linda's youngest daughter Sophie graduated last year and holds the
record for the longest number of years as a player at Northern Lights....9
years.

Megan Williams |
Megan is now in her second season of coaching with Northern Lights. Last year
she head coached our very strong 11's team. She is a former Northern Lights
player with 7 years of playing experience. Her degree in Elementary Education
from Iowa State and her current job as a nanny make her a great fit for
coaching young players.

Laura Lane |
Laura is in her 2nd year of coaching for Northern Lights. Last year she
assisted on our highly successful 12-1 team. She attended Iowa State
University, where she played for four years and helped run their volleyball
camps. She now works for Midwest Volleyball Warehouse, and loves working with
our young athletes.
