The 18-1's finished their tournament today with an official finish of 18th in the 18 Open Division. They won their first match of the day against Splash 18's in 3 straight games. Their second match pitted them against hometown rival M1, and we lost that in 4 games. Overall the 18-1's had a good tournament. They finished 18th in the nation, and that is pretty respectable. I am proud to have had them in the club and wish them all the best in their college careers. After playing the team came back, went swimming and had dinner and then went to 18 Open Finals. The 17-1's had a tough day. They started off their day against Wave 17's who were a very good team that made virtually no mistakes. We played fairly well, but Wave was just to strong for us and they won in 3 games. The second match of the day was against Gold Cal. We lost game 1, then won games 2 & 3, had game 4 in the bag and then we let it slip away. It all came down to game 5, and in the end we made to many unforced errors and we lost the match. This put the 17-1's record at 2-2. They have two more matches on Monday, and if they are to advance they will need to win both of them. They will once again be playing at 9:30 & 1 against Topeka Impact followed by Texas Tornadoes. Tonight the 17-1's were treated to a home cooked meal of sloppy joes by Maggie's parents who are staying at a suite type hotel with a kitchen. Click here to see pictures of the 17-1's from today.

The 17-2's started off the day great winning their first match against Synergy in 2 games. Their second match wasn't so good. They crushed Victory in game 1, then lost game two and like the 17-1's it came down to the deciding again. However in the end, the 17-2's made too many unforced errors and they lost 17-15. Their final match of the day was against the #1 team in the pool, Rockwood Thunder. This team was pretty good and the 17-2's couldn't match them on blocking or attacking. Rockwood won the match in 2 games and the 17-2's finished the pool with a 3-2 record and were ranked 2nd in the pool. They will play a 3 team pool on Monday afternoon and then have a challenge match following that. Tonight the 17-2's stayed at the hotel and pizza for dinner.Click here to see pictures of the 17-2's from today.
