The 15-1's started the day off not so well. They said they weren't awake when they played the first game against IPVA. Fortunately Chad got them to wake up, and they then proceed to thump them the next two games to win the match. Their second match of the day looked like it was going to be runaway victory for the 15-1's. They were way ahead in game 1 against Circle City, but they managed to dwindle that lead away until finally a couple of very bad ref calls gave the match to Circle City. Chad had another heart to heart discussion with them, and they came out like gang busters to easily win the next 2 games and the match. They took first place in the pool for today, and moved into the Challenge match that will determine if they get into the Gold Bracket. The Challenge match was against Niagra Frontier at 7pm. They 15-1's lost the match in two games after making quite a few unforced errors in game 2 and will now be playing for the Silver Division Championship, 9th place. The 15-2's played in a 3 team pool this afternoon. They lost their first match to Southwest Asics in two games. In fact in one of them they got thumped pretty badly 25-5. They had to win their second match in order to remain in contention for the Gold. The match was against Texas Tornados #2 team, and it was good match for the 15-2's. They played well and beat them in 2 games. This put them in 2nd place in the pool and they moved into the Challenge match against SF Juniors to decide who goes into the Gold Championship bracket. In the first game SF Jrs pretty easily beat the 15-2's, and then in game 2 the 15-2's pretty easily beat SF Juniors. It all came down to game 3 and the 15-2's had too many unforced errors and they lost the match 15-13. They will now be playing for 9th place in the Silver Division on Thursday. The 16-1's had two more matches today at 8 & 11am. The first match was against Willowbrook and the 16-1's easily won that match in 3 games. Their second match was a bit more interesting against Laguna Beach. At one point in game two the 16-1's were behind by 3 points. But in the end the team pulled it all together and defeated Laguna Beach in 3 straight games. The 16-1's are currently 4-0 in pool play and will play their final 2 matches of the pool on Thursday. If they win both they will be in the Gold Bracket, otherwise they would have to play a Challenge match to get into the Gold. Click here to see pictures of the 16-1's from today.

The 16-2 team did not have a good day today. In fact it was a pretty bad day. They lost all 3 matches they played. The first two matches they went 3 games in each match, but couldn't pull out the win in game 3. In the third match they lost in 2 straight games to Arizona East Valley. This put them 2-3 in the pool which ranked them 4th and does not advance towards the Gold. They will now be playing over the next two days to win the bottom half of the tournament, which would be 25th place. Click here to see pictures of the 16-2's from today.

The 16-3 team had a pretty good day today. They ended up winning 2 of their 3 matches which put them 3-2 in the pool and that gave them 3rd place. They are still in contention for the Gold. On Thursday they will play a three team pool followed by a Challenge match to get into the Gold Bracket. The 16-3's last match was against at team from Cleveland Ohio. It was a good match and the girls played very hard and never gave up. They were close to winning the match, but Cleveland was just too strong and we lost 25-23. Dani did a great job in the middle as Ali was kept out to rest her knee. Click here to see pictures of the 16-3's from today.

Today was the first day of competition for the 14-1's and they opened it up on Court 1....the major championship court with the bleacher seating for 2000. Their weren't 2000 people there, which was fortunate because we didn't play very well. We lost the first match to Victory 14's in 3 games. The next match was against TCA Third Degree and the 14-1's fairly easily won that match. Their final match was against Woodland Stars and despite having a lead in both games, we lost both of them to lose the match. This puts the 14-1's at record of 1-2 in the pool, which isn't a total disaster as long as we win all of our matches on Thursday. Click here to see pictures of the 14-1's from today.
